The girl in the mirror

There she stands, hanging her head
Smiling as usual, but her eyes are red
Despite all she does, she's on the large side
Although she laughs it off, she's dying inside
Of average height, not short or tall
Nothing to make her, stand out at all
No funky weave, sticking up in the air
Another drawback, she's got short hair
Blicker than charcoal, too dark to see
Her complexion means, she can't be pretty
In a good school, but far from smart
Forget science and math, her real passion is art
She has built up a wall, put up extra bars
Cause harsh words have left her, emotionally scarred
I wipe my tears, turn away as I shiver
Cause i hate that girl, the one in the mirror
