Paradise

The time has come yet again
Sitting here surrounded
By shadows of tall trees
And encased in the cold light.

My complete being filled with ice
The damaged soul, the broken body
I cried out, I reached out

Like a soul screaming out for love
Like a wolf howling into the darkness
Like the wind moaning in desolation
I long for you.

Waiting and waiting
The days slip on and on like sand
Running elusively through my pale fingers
You have me caught
Like a butterfly.

Why do I live?
Passing endlessly through space and time
Fading, like an apparition,
Your apparition.

You are another being,
A distant filament of the universe
A burning star,
I cannot take my eyes off of you.

There you sit,
Glowing in the darkness
That usually prevails.
The dark, the frigidity
Envelops me.

Separated from you,
Gazing at your splendour
I stretch out my hands towards you.
To my surprise
You drift closer to me.

I feel the sky tumbling down
Rushing down towards me
With its heavenly roar
And the world spinning
As if I am but a wax figure
Trapped in a snow globe.

The rest of the universe seems to dissolve,
To crack and fizz away
However nothing seems to matter
As we are united once again
Beyond the barrier between Life
And Death.
