Worth While

It's been seven months, going on three years,
Our future ahead is worth all the tears.
Having you permanently under my skin,
Is the best way for this life to begin.

Thinking of where we want to go and be,
Keeps the shimmer of hope inside of me.
Even if the path in front is a little blurred,
I want this continuance of our effort.

Almost as if I can actually reach and see,
Exactly where I want our future to be.
Holding hands, never letting you go,
As we get older, and continue to grow.

Though our skin gets wrinkled together,
You stay as beautiful to me, forever.
Taking on the forty more years ahead,
Will be worth all the tears we've shed.

Just like the old, happy couples we see,
Together for fifty years, will be you and me.
For me, there is absolutely no one else,
Even if we have to work on ourselves.

I can trust again, and feel appreciated,
After all this time we've waited.
For yars ahead of us, assuringly to come,
Will be worth all the crying I've seemed to have done.
