Oak Tree

Oh majestic oak tree,
How tall and proud stand thee!
Towering above the canopy below,
Mangled boughs resolutely reaching for the clouds.
Five hundred years at very least,
You’ve breathed upon this land.
Oh the wonders you have surely seen!

A hermit in the truest sense,
A giant amongst dwarves.
Living a life of utmost purity,
Silently watching as civilizations rise and fall before thine eyes.
I strive to live a life like yours,
Alas, I’m merely mortal man.
