Sparrow

There’s nothing in your eyes,
They’re green glow replaced by an eerie mist,
Turned to grey, turned into cold stones,
Just like what happened to your heart,
That life I fell hopelessly in love with,
Letting go what we once had hurts,
Forgiving you for the heart you broke,
It’s difficult,
Open hands spread out,
Letting go what we had,
Like releasing a sparrow into the wide open skies,
Fearing a predator will destroy what we once held so close,
The arms unwrapping,
What is happening?
Hands unheld,
Beginning to fall into a red crimson ocean,
It’s where our dreams once lay,
Our once beginning, has become to an end,
The stiches entangle around a once beating warm love,
It’s unraveling,
Becoming loose,
We’ll never again be close,
Cold breaths released,
At the sound of my footsteps,
My hand outreached,
And calls unheard,
Desperately chasing you,
Your ears have become shut,
It’s only till i hit the ground do you notice,
You turn around,
Kneel, and give me that hopeful smile,
Your hand outreached,
Water streams down your cheek,
We embrace,
If it's the last time we are to hold each other,
Then hold me forever,
The sparrow comes back and flies into our hands…
It comes back and won't ever leave us again...
