My Heaven

Trees reach skyward,
and nearby streams
flicker from diamond to gold.
Roses open themselves up
to the sun.
Drops of dew
on their petals
evaporating slowly.
Emerald grass,
tall and overgrown,
sways with the breeze.
Sweet songs
out of tiny birds’ beaks
flow smoothly in the air.
Leaves of Autumn
twist and turn
midair,
catching each other
and flitting around the tree trunks.
A cool summer breeze
caresses the flowers and water,
batting at the leaves playfully.
Here is my heaven,
my haven,
don’t take it away.
