Tears

Her hair was limp,
Her face was pale.
She limped around her room,
Looking so frail.

She wasn’t well,
You see.
She gave him her heart,
And he threw away the key.

Her silent screams,
Were never heard.
They flew on the wind,
Like a soaring bird.

If only he knew,
If only he’d listened.
Her ignored the hidden tears on her cheeks,
That still glistened.

He ignored her,
And broke her now dead heart.
He felt guilty,
But death had taken it’s part.
