Poison

Nothingness and black,
Pale bruises down her back.
Inhale the smoke and hear her choke,
The drugs make up for what she lacks.

Blades and petty lies,
Severed ties.
It's all she's ever known.
So when the blood begins to rise, her mother only cries.
And the long pants cover what she hides.

Then there he is, alone and sad,
This is the last time mother will let herself be hit again.
'Get out!' She shouts and he disappears to play in drug induced dreams.
He punches walls in the ward and forever he is mad.

Daddy was supposed to protect her,
But his perversion did neglect her.
He crept into her room one night and there was not a fight.
She yelled and cursed and cut herself and set things all alight.
So in the end the bastard won and she can not be cured.

Cut, yell, fight, cuss.
The poisons of us broken souls.
So, as we put up all the fuss,
You just bury us into deeper holes.
