The Hourglass

A starry nights dream,
Life takes time, it seems.
Love loses live,
Life fades time.
The clock runs faster,
Time is no longer the master.
Moments blur together,
Memories hung heavier.
We lose when we win,
We fight in order to sin -
But what do we do?
What is lifes muse?
Falling back into the past,
Memories no longer last.
Stop and breathe -
And then we leave.
What has this life done?
Come and gone,
Quick like the flap of a wing,
Like a child on a swing,
Slow as the turn of a page,
Like the familys we have made.
One step forward -
Life is no coward.
Run, run faster, -
Time; Life has passed her.
Young then old,
Life rarer than gold.
Searching for beauty,
Time in the span of a movie -
Born then dead,
Forgotten words were said.
Dance to the music,
Up until you lose it.
Sing to the beat of a heart,
Lifes only true art.
Two steps back,
We've lost the map -
Time takes control,
A tight grip, a strong hold.
100 years are given,
Remember why we're living.
50 years remain,
Enough to release any pain.
25 years to go,
What have we come to know?
100 have come and come,
Time and life sang their song.
Life, love, happiness...
A fight to control it.
A truce comes with death -
And time is reset.
