A Hidden Rose

Walked near a garden
So beautiful and fragrant it was
A lovely sight my eyes beckon
I suddenly felt a pause

My body refused to move
I can feel a warming stare
My focus only wanted to approve
For my heart was well aware

I approached without thought
Assuming my heart will be healed
This is what I sought
Only to know to yield

It glows in the wind
I felt a sudden presence
The petals grinned
Its thorns gave me judgments

The scarlet of soft
The velvet feel of its skin
Set my senses aloft
As well as my heart akin

Although the wind be gentle
Its petals are weak
They slowly begin to crumble
Yet I still see it’s unique

Although its beauty fades
As each ruby floats and falls
Each one falls onto glades
And my heart-beat stalls
