Late Night Memories

On school day's we'd whisper softly under our breathe,
lying awake in my small twin bed.
I'd lull you to sleep time after time.
We never wen't to school,
we would sleep the day away.
Smoking cigarettes on my deck.
You told me I meant something,
to someone.
You just didn't specify who.
I guess it wasn't you,
I was an alibi.
That hurt.
The lies as I tried,
just for you.
How does it feel?
to live like you do.
You keep us all at your finger tips,
when you need us we're there.
