I cried
for the fear I'd lose you
for the relief I wouldn't
for the knowledge of the power
my fear and relief could give you.
I cried
for the strength of my need
for the fact that your arms
settle my heart, put the need at bay.
I cried
because I love you.
And in that instant of realization,
I cried,
because no one told me
love is terrifying.
