Swan Song

I feel in my soul
a fearful lurch
a longing leap
an angst filled cry
for my long lost life

I feel in heart
a crushing thump
a beating sting
a rushing hurt
for my leaving love

I feel in my body
a lasting ache
a fallin chip
a constant break
for my muted voice

I feel it now
my broken scream
my pent up rage
my permanent wounds

I know it now,
these broken things
these painful pulls
and torn up strings,
will never be fixed again

And so
I shall sing my swan song
for it's my only one
that will never be taken from me
