Thank You Soldier

So brave, beyond
Ordinary,
Long days
Drag by on the battlefield.
Insanity pulses through
Every vein, making one
Realize how precious life can be, hos
Stable it once was.

Tears fall in No Man's Land, but
How many people take for granted what you
All do? So many know
Not of the meaning of the phrase
Kill or be killed.

Young soldier,
Old in mind, not in years- do you
Understand why you go? Or where?

When mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters
all ask
why must you go
so far
away?
~
As bombs fall from the sky,
we thank the wonderful Lord on high
that brave men and women just like you
have the courage to fight through and through
for our country's freedom
and protection.
