Buried and Lost For Good

Here I lie face down
Buried a mile underground
Smothered by those around me
A grain of sand on a beach
That is what I think of me
But I am so far under
I cannot hear the thunder

Pebble pressed down in the ocean floor
Tossed and pulled back from the shore
Simply crushed by the waves
My future seems so grave
That is what I think of my fate
But I blend in so well
That no one can tell

In a separate world of silence
Redundant words break the quiet
Mine are lost in a raging flood
Left to be fossilized in the mud
That is what I think of my crutch
Collapsing beneath my weight
It just couldn't stand to wait

You do this to me
You break my every
Hope for acceptance
And understanding
