Tired

There comes a point in a person's life
when they're just tired.
Emotionally drained.
Physically exhausted.
Sick of the people they knew
...or thought they knew.
Tired of building things up,
just to have other people tear it down.
Tired of trying to fit in,
only to be outcast.
Tired of being second best,
when they desperately want to be first.
Tired of people forgetting them,
when all they want is to leave their marks.
Tired of working their asses off,
to have someone else bask in the glory.
So tired...
Yet still they keep going.
Try after try.
Fall after fall.
Not knowing how many more falls they can take,
before they can't get back up.
