Square One

Everyday I think,

‘Yeah, I’ll get up the courage to say something!’

And then, something happens,

And things change,

And the courage evaporates,

Like a puddle on a hot summer day,

My tongue becomes,

As dry as a desert,

I can’t get out the words I want,

So, instead, I say,

‘Your shoes are untied.’

Or something completely stupid,

And we’re back to Square One.
