Memories fade
They fall from us so readily
Why are they so easily lost?
Memories are painful things
Full of bittersweet endings
And lives once lived
Maybe it’s protection
Protection against the world
So we never truly see the cruelty of it all
Maybe it’s a sign of kindness
From a world beyond ours
The kindness of never having to remember our pain

And sometimes we all wish to forget
But some memories are not easily forgotten.

I'm not quite sure what this is about really. I'm just thinking of times past and of what was lost and what was forgotten and what memories I wish I have forgotten. Bittersweet memories indeed.
