Death's Friend

The farther we were,
The brighter it was,
but the more we came close,
the real beauty had begun.

It was beautiful,
But in minutes it had gone blank.

Blanker than my mind on a peaceful summer day,
The faster we came,
The faster it went away.

And in a split second,
The joy disappeared,
All of the light was gone,
The dark grew near.

The darkness was so very intriguing,
I knew it was bad but it would keep me dreaming.

But I walked,
Back to the light,
left the darkness behind me,
It was nowhere in sight.

It seemed like death was right over me,
Looming and spying,
Seeing things others could not see.

He was hopeless and lifeless,
Drawn from the depths of despair,
Living a life,
Others couldn't bare.

So I felt,
Felt for him,
Felt for me,
As I wished him a life of joy and glee.

So I made him a promise,
A promise indeed,
I told death,
That he should be set free.

I told him that,
And I made him a promise,
I would let him go,
And his face would be a face to miss.

So, I was walking on the beach when I saw the trees glowing bright orange. I started walking towards them, and I noticed the orange was fading. I turned around and seen the most gorgeous sunset ever. When the light was disappearing, I got a huge burst of inspiration and wrote this :P
