A Fairy's Tail.

Once upon a Time, as all fairy tales should start
Lived a sun-kissed damsel, driven by a spark.
She always fell fast, good, and true in heart.
This time for him, rough, rugged, and stark.

A man he was, Tall, and Sturdy.
Dusty, Rusty and Strong.
With A growling roaring Chevy, perpetually Dirty.
she took the lead and He came along.

But There was a curse, never lifted,
that bound her heart, Gagged and tied,
Never letting go, no matter how she shifted.
For there was her lover before him, he who had lied

She had shattered hearts, and her own had broken
Weary and Ravaged, but still beating
Hurt not just from past actions, but words spoken,
The man of her dreams, smothered, by this heart now competing.

Dismay she faced and over fears she prevailed,
Doubtful she was, of herself and her desires
For love was lost, love had failed.
Knowing this, nervous she is, around him, she perspires.

She'll push on, remaining stolid, refusing to splinter,
Her Heart yearning, pleading, for love
as a flower misses the sun in the depths of winter.
She too seeks life from that above.

She draws strength from the fire that is her soul
Its' rising and sinking currents of convection
Lead to only his happiness, her ultimate goal
Even if he should choose to bask another with the rays of his affection.

And now she ties her tourniquet with the last shreds of hope she harbors
That He will be hers, that He will save her from the darkened abyss.
She's slowly fading, her petals cut by vicious barbers.
Her soul taking root in all that it knows, he is the light that she does miss.

Grown from thorns, the petals may wilt,
But she will never be uprooted by guilt.
She'll grow ever steady towards the sun,
This tale is not over, But has just begun.
