1 million poems

I wrote 1 million poems
and 2 thousand notes
yet it was still
not enough
2 make you happy
4ever was the greatest lie
they have ever told
in the dicitonary
I followed you down the rabbit hole
Alice was green skinned with my hair
But yet, there was not 1 white rabbit
27 little pieces of ripped up paper rained
for 2011 minutes of our lives
I tried to pick them up and attach them
but like you they would not connect, I could not fit the pieces together
so I lie them down and I stared
I tapped my long endless feet and twiddled my nonsense hands
for 3 months of the time
the pieces slowly drifted away as a hot breeze smacked my bronzing face
I ran after them, screaming for sweet sanity
but finally when my lungs flooded with sweet fluid
that slopped around inside my lungs
I fell to the ground
I dropped my head
my tears fell into the mushrooms and alas,
they did not grow
rather seperated
like we soon departed
I walked away with a straight face
if only you weren’t watching my back as I still
walk away
