The Remembrance

I saw the world in a piece of glass jammed into my hand,
I saw
their faces
in a road of sand.

I saw the sky open up above me,
I saw
the way they see,
you see.

I saw it all before the front door
of my
house,
laid out there
in front of me.

And I smiled
and the world fell,
and the buildings crumbled,
and I smiled at the end of it all
the ruins of remembering,
I smiled.
