I am a Shoulder

I get scrunched up in positions I don’t like
and the pressure gives me pain as I tense
to the strength I have that’s weakened.
Too much weight and I might cave.
Sometimes the weight of life is too much to
bare, and the monkey on the back is
crowding my face. I wish I could have more
space.

I can’t see my true love that’s like me,
someone I can relate to; who is he? I may
never see him unless in a reflection
of us, but that’s just the opposite of
what is really there.

Lean on me darling, I like the weight
and the salty shower of pain you give to me,
or the smell of sultry love in your breath
as you breathe your solitude on me.
I will be your rock lost in the middle of the sea
so no more will you drown in your own sorrow
and be forever lost without anyone to be your
hero.

I can be your helping hand as I give you the
power to do anything. Let me adorn you with
my strength and be flexible for you so long
as you care for me, and I will reward you
with a life without pain.
