Car Crash Won't Be Heard From Heaven

He drank the pain away,
She cried all night and day.
Can we, should we go back?
He drank 'till he saw black.

She called him on her phone,
He yelled "you broke my soul",
So she ran to her car
And drove under the stars.

As hearts collide just past eleven,
This car crash won't be heard in Heaven.
The music played 'till almost midnight
When he ran barefoot through the fire.
Face down in blood on the steering wheel
Lays a girl unmoving, so surreal.
The lights flashed together in a blur,
Could he have done something to save her?

He couldn't stop drinking,
She couldn't stop thinking.
Then he got in his car,
His world would fall apart.

She saw him once again,
He didn't see her then.
As death came to consume,
She met her end too soon.

As hearts collide just past eleven,
This car crash won't be heard in Heaven.
The music played 'till almost midnight
When he ran barefoot through the fire.
Face down in blood on the steering wheel
Lays a girl unmoving, so surreal.
The lights flashed together in a blur,
Could he have done something to save her?

Floating briefly side-by-side,
She gave him one last goodbye.
One last time their hearts collide,
He will live and she will die.

As hearts collide just past eleven,
This car crash won't be heard in Heaven.
The music played 'till almost midnight
When he ran barefoot through the fire.
Face down in blood on the steering wheel
Lays a girl unmoving, so surreal.
The lights flashed together in a blur,
Could he have done something to save her?
