Insanity

The sound of rain is driving me insane.
echoing in my head for reasons I can't explain.
Memories of the past still eating me alive.
Hardly leaving reasons for me to try and survive.
I sit alone and wait for I know it won't be long,
until you come home and you say I've done you wrong.
Usually our hands are innocently intertwined,
But when we are alone they are never so kind.
All their accusations silenced with the lies.
Feeling my emotions darken like the skies.
I pray I can escape before your return,
but you've got me locked in for a lesson I must learn.
The sound of violent thunder reminds me of you.
But as I close my eyes, I pray this isn’t true.
The lightening as it flashes, wakes me from my dream.
I’m trying my hardest to stifle my scream.
