Red bandaids

Tonight I'll slap red band aids onto my hands.
I'll pray to them asking them to keep all of the pain harboring inside of me at bay.

Red band aids, be the dams
That stop my tears from oozing out from my eyes,
Like blood from broken skin.

Diagnose me with heart break.
Tell me my prognosis,
So that I can neglect it.

Red band aids, stop my heart from exploding,
Bursting from my breast like like glass shards.
Piercing through my lungs,
Reminding me if better days.

Honey,
Save me
Save me.
Don't let me drown.

You know I can't swallow my pride,
So I can't swallow the river of tears I've cried for you.
I'll breath them all in like I breathe for my pride.

I'll let these tears over flow into the bullet holes,
Drilled into my chest from those glass shards.

If I can't count on you for much,
I know that I can count on you for this.

Save me.
Red band aids, you don't work for me anymore.
