"A Poem About You"

I think about you 'till this day,
and it really pains me to say
that I wish we remained as together
as the sky and the rain.
For I would never have traded the stars
for all of these emotional scars.

It seems as if a million years has came and passed
when the thoughts of "us" seemed to last.
The memories of you are still so fresh,
like a pit of fire inside my chest.
Do you still think about me 'till this day?
Are there things you wish you could say?

Hush now, for fate has spoken.
It's time for me to give you one last token.
Remember me in all that I say,
for I remember you in every which way.

Now take those memories, lay them to rest,
in hopes that our futures turn out for the best.
There will always be a place in my heart that remembers,
