Falling Apart

Eyes close and hands shake
Inhale and exhale
Throat tightening up
Fingers clenching into fists

Emotions taking over
Sob wracking through her
Head shaking from left to right
Refusing to see what's really there

Holding onto what used to be
Wishing that everything would just go away
Not wanting to be left broken, beat down and bruised
Hoping that somehow everything will be okay

Legs give out and knees smack into the ground
Choking back tears, shaking helplessly
Feeling lost and all alone
Fighting a losing battle till the very end

Trying to keep calm and failing
Body dropping down onto the floor
Arms wrapping around tightly
Hoping to hold herself together

Wanting to give up
Wanting to let go
Wanting it to stop
Wanting everything to go

Gasping for air
Praying it will go away
Falling apart and powerless to stop it
The world comes crashing down
