Sunken Ship

I open my eyes after the nightmares fade
And put on my precious facade
The calm of the storm hits for a moment
But it seems that it has only begun, the devil's torment

I stand and splash my face with water all but holy
Of life, am I still worthy?
And the blade I keep, I stare upon with eyes full of tears
Wondering if my skin, my flesh, will tear

I dress myself in clothes that flatter
I see the chances of death getting fatter and fatter
Afterall what is perfection
But a false relfection?

You were thrown off the edge of a cliff
And like your heart, you are cold and stiff
The butterflies, you could never catch them
But the pain you can no longer fathom

Your face grows darker and darker
But life only grows harder
Why can't you just dunk your head under water
Your emotions, will no longer falter

I promise, if you vanish all will be mended
Your time, was never wisely spended.
So disappear, you will be replaced
Take a break from all the disappointment you have faced

This current will drag you down
Please, you no longer have reasons to frown
Your reality will fade to black
Happiness is what you have always lacked

And so this is the end
Your bones can break and bend
In the graveyard you are put in
It looks like the ship you called life has sunken.
