Just A Mere Boy

Peak around the dawning
Where the glistening reaches
Gracious corners of one's conscience.

Just a mere boy.

A sparkle unmatched by any
Swims around his glossy eyes
Dancing and taunting while still
Silent, cold, and calm.

As if competitively, his golden locks
Flicker and shine against the sun
And act as if one can't clearly see
Which is more enchanting.

Brilliantly white remains his
Perfected smile as it curves
Slowly up to his cheeks
And drowns out sorrow in the air.

Creates a beautiful man.

His arms hold tightly
Even as he falls into his dreamland
And clutches me like a favorite toy
Protectively but honestly.

Angelic velvet flows in baritone
As he laughs, sings, speaks
And the thought alone is enough
To shake a woman from her ideals.

The hydrogen has broken into
The atmosphere and invaded every
Free ounce of darkness left in
My mind, my spirit and my body.

And I love the man who made it so.
