Loner

Most see it as a four-letter word
A synonym for sadness, despair, failure
They see them as those who can't make friends
Losers, freaks, geeks
Then there are those of us
Who will stand up proudly and declare
"I am a Loner"
Not because we have to be
We choose to
Because sometimes
People just aren't worth dealing with
We don't feel the need
To seek out other people
We don't mind our own company
And from what I've seen from today's society
Most people can't deal with themselves
Which is why they seek out others
So from where I stand
Loners are the strong ones of our society
But the minority
So we will continue to be called
Losers, freaks, geeks
When in truth,
We have more inner strength
Than those throwing insults
To make themselves feel better
