November Evening
He speaks to her
On a cold November evening
She asks what will the future bring for me
He cannot answer
But he tells her that her sons
Will become great men
The one will fall a long way
Yet he will save the world
The other will give and give until he has no more
And save everyone he can
Perhaps he speaks of one with a certain tone
For she asks if he loved him
She says
A mother knows
Both he answers
But she shakes her head
He answers the best he can
Of course. Of course.
How could he not
He is his world
She smiles
Thank you for taking care of my boys
He must go
Can’t interfere any longer
Before he goes
She grabs his arm
He’s yours, you know
He does
On a cold November evening
She asks what will the future bring for me
He cannot answer
But he tells her that her sons
Will become great men
The one will fall a long way
Yet he will save the world
The other will give and give until he has no more
And save everyone he can
