Run, Young Innocent, Run

quickly
baby fox
run
oh god
while you still can
im locked up
baby fox
chained in the cement
my arms are restrained
young, innocent
my eyes are adverted
stuck in the sockets
of a hollow unwanted
face of my pain

"quietly
babyfox"
she sickens
her stomach is empty
her eyes are craked glass
her voice is so urgent
shes speaking so fast
"run
run
run"
she yells
"run
run
run"
as fast as you can
baby fox

her heart wont stop
her breath wont bate
she'll find you
"be safe"
again she wretches
my heart is now broken
its beside me, i swear it
but baby fox
this isnt you

youve never been so sad
i hear you
young innocent
i hear you!
dont cry
dont scream
but scream, you do
"QUIETLY!"
babyfox
quietly, we said
we told you
oh god
young innocent
oh please

"be pure once again"

I wrote this last year when the love of my life was breaking my heart and I loved her too much to do anything about it. I wanted her to care like she would about a baby wounded fox. But after the break up, when I found the poem again, it became so much more. It no longer means anything close to her. This is a poem I wrote from the bottom of my heart. I hope you like it.
