All I See

All I See
I choked on your words when they lost their meaning
And my blood morphed into something else
And now my heart pumps your lies
And I lie awake only to find the night gets deeper
I wish you had looked at me before you left
Before you vanished
Trying to catch fog is easier than holding on to you
But watching through dazed eyes I wouldn’t have changed a thing
Even if the dizzying euphoria of swirling skies didn’t last
You finally showed me the stars
Scattering them through ink with your fingers
And twisting through seas of diamonds and light
I saw what really mattered
All I saw was you

I think of you and everything that was us
And wonder who loves you now
Who do you whisper to at night
Who do you run to through the falling cold
Who catches you when you spiral out of control
You’re so beautiful you make the air rush from my lungs
Each face looks like you everywhere I go
And I’m thankful for every bittersweet laceration
I look at what I am
And see nothing of what I was before
All I see is you
