Summer Nights

Those warm summer nights, filled with a cool breeze
are the memories that mean the most to me.

Sneaking out late, while our parents slept
not caring how late we would get back.

Stopping by the grocery store,
so we could stock up on stolen beer.

Carrying our drinks, as we walk to the pool
and once were there we know what to do.

Hoping the fence, while no one is looking
we pop our caps and go skinny-dipping.

The water feels cool, against our bare skin
and this is when all the fun begins.

Chugging down beers, one after another
starting to let loose altogether.

Theses are the nights, that I miss the most
without you here I feel like a ghost.

No one to take me away in the night,
letting me know it'll be alright.

I wait for summer to come again,
knowing good & well it is where it began.
