Be Not Afraid of Life's Trials

Walking down the lonesome road
Lost with no way to go.
The life on your shoulders is a heavy load,
What lies ahead you do not know.

The burden of your load blurs your eyes,
Your limbs tremble with the strain.
With all of your might you let out a cry.
You want someone to ease the pain.

A bright light shines through the dank air,
With your face upturned you squint in fear.
A man stands there with shimmering robes and flowing white hair.
Down His cheek flows a single shining tear.

Like water He flows to your side,
With a stare so deep and knowing it makes you start.
Without hesitation He swings you to his side,
Holds you in His arms so close you can hear his heart.

With a sigh of relief you feel your burden fall away.
The aches in your body ease and your muscles feel loose.
With the pain gone and with weakness you sway,
Peace within your body begins to diffuse.

He slips a translucent arm behind your knees
And lifting you off the ground He takes a stride.
Every worry from you flees,
Evil from Him hides.

Through your life Jesus carries you.
Hearing His voice as a whisper in your ear,
Your life is no longer askew.
He has dried every tear.
