Lesson Learned

What lead you to take
A life not yet lived?
What voice did you take
With you to the grave?
I do not know you
But I wish I had
A listening ear
An open heart
I would have gave.
Today you commited the greatest of sins
But you have opened the eyes of a country.
Maybe now we as a whole
Will reach out and help the forgotten.
I know I will.
