Holly Jolly Christmas

Well, the temperature keeps dropping
And all the procrastinators keep shopping
Dozens of cookies made their way through the oven
Each baked with Christmas joy and lovin’

A wreath is hung on every door
Reminders of our Christ galore
The tree is scraping the ceiling
And we’re all filled with that wonderful feeling

Lights twinkle on every street
We say hello to everyone we meet
Snow crunches under our boots
But we have to remind ourselves of the Noel roots

Santa’s in every kid’s mind
It’s a glorious time for all child-kind
Family gathers all around
And off-key carols surround

Presents under the Christmas tree, each topped with a bow
Happy faces aglow
Though the commercialism has gone astray
Christmas is still my favorite holiday
