States of Oblivion
Running quickly, cannot stop,
Slipping through the darkness, so distraught,
Emptiness is present, the darkness is illuminated,
The scarring begins, and has no end.
Sinking slowly, totally immobile,
Paralyzed quickly, enduring images,
The nightmare takes over, it is reality,
I sink below the surface, into a world of oblivion
Sliding, sliding, never stopping,
The slope increasing, my heart pounding,
Digging my nails in, trying to stop,
Nails screeching then ripping off.
Laying still and sleeping long,
Bleeding slow and weeping soft,
Helpless now, always have been,
What a way to be undone.
Crawling and creeping,
Apathetic, without speaking,
Slipping backward, tortured movements,
No forward progress, only anguish.
Sitting quietly, drenched in spite,
Rattling tensions raise apprehension,
Repetitive torments empty me quickly,
The intense blood loss is going to my head.
Screaming, ripping, cutting, dripping,
Blood flows now, wiping out my soul,
It extricates, abbreviates, and drains my joy,
It speaks and yells, and torments me inside.
Dead and quiet in the ground,
Oh finally it is over, at last peace.
Sleeping softly, I make no sound,
The remnants of my broken soul will never be found.
