Ghosts in My Room

Part 1

M I l e n k o

There he was, a turban with stars, and a feather
a glowing wand, a raven, and stormy weather
A missing eye, missing teeth, and a goatee
Looks in my eyes, says “Damned For Sure!” to me.
Laughs, waves his wand, ringing in my ears
Shivers and chills bring to life morbid fears
Close my eyes hoping he’s gone for good
Wishing for peace to rest like I should
But he lingers, beside me, behind me everywhere,
He’s with me always, he doesn’t seem to care
Along the walls, down the hall, in my head
He hovers still follows me to bed,
“Damned for Sure!” ringing in my head
That is what Milenko said!

Part 2

Bloody lips, slanted eyebrows, and flaming hair,
Razor sharp teeth, burning hands, and a soul black and bare
At the end of my bed, laughing, and flying towards me
Disappears into me, pain in my chest, how can this be?
“You’re Not Real!” I scream in my head and am filled with dread,
Laughing resumes, pain again, and an aching in my head,
Laughter, sick laughter, fills my feeble mind,
Chained to my bed, by fear of a crippling kind.
Flaming balls appear, I hope none hit the floor
If he drops one my soul shall be “Damned for Sure!”
Just like Milenko said my heart sinks with worry
Watching my vices swirl in a deadly hurry.
One hits the Ground and then every flame ceases
Jack starts laughing and the pain increases.

Part 3

Clutching my chest, pain rips through me
Psychotic laughter echoing no chance to be free
Prayers fall like water droplets onto an oil fire,
My words mean nothing, the demons fulfill their desires.
Long sleeves, a top hat, and pointed ears,
Razor fingernails, gleaming teeth, escalate my fears,
Appearing before me, terrorizing me, reaching for me,
Grabs my heart, can’t breathe, cant get free.
Hearing “Damned For Sure, Yes you Are!
Damned For Sure, You Won’t Go Far
Damned For Sure, You Will See
Damned For Sure, You Belong to Me!”
Close my eyes, letting go, giving in
And then…. It was over as quickly as it had begun
