Monster In My Room

There is a creature in my room
That stalks the cold linoleum floor
And burns the air with his fiery scent

But that is in the time of day.

There is a man in my room
Who strokes my hair as I curl to sleep
And rests his ice of a body against mine

But that is not when the moon has touched its peak.

There is a demon in my room
That crushs away the breaths I take
And pulls away the warning calls of my mind

I can feel him even now
As I sat just within his reach
Can feel his gentle fingers drawing my eyelids shut
And calling for the lights he cannot seem to touch to die
So that he may try his tricks again...

There is something in my room
That is not afraid to play from under the bed
Or send out his tender hands
Reaching for either my side or my throat

There is a monster in my room
One I have yet to decide a motive

It is my love?
Or my life he craves?

Didn't want to fall asleep just yet, though my eyes can barely stay open to see the screen. My mind's already fogging up. Just didn't want to turn off the lights yet...
