This world won't sleep tonight, keeping me up

too dizzy
sweaty and shaking
i'm hot but freezing
tired but awake
staring at the ceiling
focusing on these barren bedroom walls
thinking of sleep
something i haven't been able to do in weeks
as the sun comes up
i stared out the foggy window
and dozed off
i lost myself in that moment
i forgot where i was
and who i was
i dreamed of a warm paradise
but, sadly, that was only a dream
