Meant to be for all Eternity

A dragon he once was
Till she trapped his soul
And dulled his claws.
Now in this body
He loves her
And the rest of the world begins to blur.
Because she gave herself for him
On a single whim.
He was a terrible beast
Until she stopped his hunger
And it ceased.
Now he longs to spend
Each night with her
But the war must end.
This war tears them apart
and leaves a bleeding heart.
For together they were meant to be
For all eternity.
