In A Faraway Field

Little girl,
lost herself,
in a faraway field.

Sweet at eight, a curious one,
it scared her when, she saw that gun,
an innocent, but evil one,
she doesn't know, what's yet to come.

Little girl,
lost herself,
in a faraway field.

Nine years old, barely grown,
lost more love, than you've ever known,
she's all alone, no place to go,
what she needs, she does not know.

Little girl,
lost herself,
in a faraway field.

Almost ten, life just gets worse,
all she does, is scream and curse,
blames herself, because she doesn't recall,
emptiness creeps inside her, as the night falls.

Little girl,
lost herself,
in a faraway field.

Eleven now, dropped out of school,
cuts herself, blood like a pool,
wants to die, she's done with life,
tries every time she grabs a knife.

Little girl,
lost herself,
in a faraway field.

Made it to twelve, cut off her hair,
there's no skin left, on her bones bare,
the saddest sight, you've ever seen,
she never made it to thirteen.

Little girl,
killed herself,
in a faraway field.
