New Year Troubles

A girl sits in her dark empty room at four minutes to two.
Tears drying on her face
She seems to have lost her place.

With a father in the next room that is slowly losing his mind, 
But also that takes pills to stop his body shaking from time to time. 

Her mother lies next to him to make sure he gets sleep,
While she feels like she needs to weep. 

The new year is two hours in and already she knows that this year is going to be dim. 
With no hope in her heart and with no smile in place,
She starts the year off with a sad teary face.
