The Water Nymph

Don’t follow her into the water, don’t dive after her into the liquid darkness.

I know you want to feel her silky hair burning like fire in the water, I know you crave her wet, cold, electrifying touch but give up.

You want to let her take you away, you love her voice, that tingling lullaby filling the air. Her dark brown eyes, pieces of red earth with lashes surrounding them, those pink lips, inviting you to a deadly kiss.

I know you want to know what it feels like but listen; Those eyes of the water nymph will enchant you and then drown you.

It won’t be long after you hold her hand when the cold water will stab you in the guts,
It won’t be long after her angelic beauty will seem to you like a piece of art made by the devil himself.
It won’t be long. Drown your desire before it drowns you.
