Silent Superman

There are so many words I want to say.
To tell you the truth hidden by these
chains and walls that have formed
around a heart made cold and distant.
As I dance in the rain I’ll scream
to you, I’ll tell you all my secret lies.
All those times when my world was
crashing down around me, like a
raging thunder storm bent on destruction,
you were my stable ground, my shelter.
You are my bright light in the darkness.
Your arms were the ones who held me
when it seemed as if my world was over.
Your smile, sweet as can be, natural
and seemingly effortless; had made
my heart skip a beat so many times.
You saw into the eyes of an invisible girl
trying so hard to be seen and heard.
You are my hero, my silent superman.
But because of my inability to accept
these feelings that are stirring in my chest,
you disappeared into the horizon,
without so much as a hint of a goodbye.
No matter how much I wasn’t to find you,
to reach out blindly and grasp your hand,
to call out your name and see your light,
I’ve lost you and I can’t find my voice.
