Dancers

Dancers danced to a beautiful song,
a song so tragic, and dreadful.
The graceful movements,
their beautiful faces,
and their small petite frames,
made up for the grotesque surroundings.
As the music grew louder,
their movements grew swifter,
she struggled to keep up.
At last the music stopped,
and their eyes opened.
They were blind, each of them,
and as the danced towards a bright light
she couldn't help but follow.
This was what death felt like;
this is how it felt to die as a dancer.
