Angel, Take Me

Please take me far away,
I don't want this angry life,
Full of screaming, full of pain,
Of darkness, and bitter strife.

The first time he hit me,
It came with pain and shock,
Snarling like a mange-ridden dog,
His fist hurling down like a rock.

With a laugh, he slapped my face,
Twisted my arm with a grin,
All because he chose a fight,
He knew he's surely win.

"He beat you one, twice?" You ask,
No, too many time to keep track,
Oh sure, I managed to hide it well,
I shoved it all under the mat.

But a part of me was always screaming,
"You fucking bastard, let me OUT!"
In my head I'd fight, I'd scream,
I'd cry, Hell, I'd even shout.

But one day he hit me too hard,
He struck my head with a vase,
That's why I'm now asking you angels,
To take me away from this dark place.

To a quiet place, both warm and sweet,
Where the only thing present is light,
To chase away the pain of my years,
And end this endless night.

Let me finally rest in peace,
Let me have my final sleep,
And please do tell my dear sweet mother,
There's no reason now for her to weep.

For I am laying with the angels,
And He has clasped me to his breast,
I am finally safe where I belong,
Laying down for my eternal rest.
