The Monster

For a friend of mine I write this poem,
she has touched our lives in many ways.
For she once was a child, wild and free,
she is now an inspiration to me!
You see, she has had a recent omen.
An Omen most would cower to,
my friend stood up and slapped its face!
The face of doom and she,
stood there knee to knee.
Punch after punch, slap after slap,
the two fought like Frazier and Ali!
Round after round, there was tears,
there was loss of blood,
even loss of hair!
Loss of dignity was the worst.
This battle with the Monster across the ring,
this battle is still happening!
The crowd is pulling for her to shine!
For not one soul is for the Monster!
We see no shame, we see a woman once a child.
This woman you see, is a friend of mine.
My friend can shine! She knows how to shine!
I see her. We all see her! She is so bright...
...how can you not see her?
Her will so strong! Her soul cries out like a child.
A child of God! Of God! God please let this child,
this child of yours, let her shine! She is bright!
I see her, though I am far off, for her light is bright!
I will pray for her today, even tonight!
You see this poem is for my friend who is in a battle.
A battle for her life and with the will of a child...
...she WILL conquer! She WILL overcome!
The Monster will go down! She will be victorious!
Though there will be scars to show, and shames to try to hide,
She will one day love to bare the wounds!
The wounds of a Monster once in her life.
The Monster will be gone! God knows this to be true!
My friend...God loves you! Your family loves you! I love you!
This love is why you are still here! Love is so strong!
God is love!
The Monster...not love!
God always wins!
You will win!
